About Our Caregivers
Learn more about our dedicated caregivers, carefully selected for their qualifications, warmth, and honesty.
-
Carefully Selected
Woodslake Home Care is devoted to providing the most committed, highly qualified and carefully selected caregivers in the industry. Our caregivers are OUR employees, thoroughly interviewed, screened and background-checked (province and national), trained and oriented, bonded and insured.
We have rigorous hiring practices in which all applicants go through tests and screenings focusing on skills, experience, attitudes and placement into homes. Many of our staff members have extensive experience caring for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. Most importantly, each and every one of our caregivers must be honest, warm and caring.
-
Highly Trained
In order to ensure we have the most professional and reliable caregivers, we help them boost their skills to become the best the industry has to offer. Our caregivers have access to our exclusive Certified Companion Aide (CCA®) program. The CCA® designation elevates their knowledge and status in the industry and instills in them the highest standards of caregiver professionalism.
In addition to their previous experience, our caregivers receive continuous training through this one-of-a-kind curriculum, guaranteeing that Woodslake Home Care’s caregivers remain the bar-setting home care professionals in our community.
-
Companionship
We improve your life by providing compassionate, one-on-one care in the comfort of your own home. Our personalized and affordable services are available 7 days a week. Ranging from 4-hour shifts of care to 24/7 Live-in care, Woodslake Home Care allows you to choose the level of care that will fit your needs.
Woodslake Home Care provides service in private homes, assisted living communities, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation centers. Most of all, providing companion care each and every visit.

Personal Care
Our highly-qualified and trained caregivers are ready to help you and your loved ones with a variety of daily activities, such as:
• Personal Care which includes assistance with bathing, dressing and grooming, and medication reminders.
• Daily Errands & Transportation (eg. grocery shopping or doctor’s appointments)
• Light Housekeeping
• Meal Preparation
Companionship and conversation including reading together, games and puzzles, cooking together and watching TV. Live-in care can be broken up between one caregiver working the whole 24-hour shift or two splitting the care between 12-hour shifts. During a 24-hour shift, the caregiver will sleep at your home and be available to provide night-time care.
We provide care for people with Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s, and any other condition that requires assistance with daily living.
You are not alone.
We provide caregivers who can help you take a few hours off, without feeling guilty or stressed, while you take care of yourself or other members of your family. Giving yourself a little bit of time away may be just what the doctor ordered and will help you to be a much better family caregiver.
We provide In-home assessments. We routinely perform in-home assessments that result in a customized care plan for your loved ones. You may choose to have us carry out the care plan in whole or in part, or you may simply choose to use the care plan to improve your own ability to care for your loved one.
We provide Fall-prevention assessments and training. One of the largest sources of injuries among seniors is falling. We can help you assess the risks that your loved one faces and provide education on how to minimize the risk of falling. Also, if you request, we will even conduct a free workshop on fall prevention for your group.
We provide home safety checks. We have extensive experience in the multi-faceted process of ensuring that your loved one’s home is safe, which is vital to maintaining independence for as long as possible.
We provide support and understanding. We can help you get connected with support groups and individuals in our area that can help YOU, as well as help you care for your loved one.
